Make-up brushes should be cleansed regularly, especially when you, like me, use them on a daily basis. But unfortunately I tend to lack in the 'cleaning brushes-department'. I think it's such a hassle and when I have some spare time I never think of cleaning brushes (shame on me). But then I discovered that Sigma, my favourite brand of brushes, also sells cleansing mats, and I obviously had to have one. So my sister bought me one for Christmas. Due to some delivery issues I only got the present two weeks ago though. But I couldn't be happier with it! Why? That's what you can read in this blogpost.
What is it exactly?
The Sigma Spa Express is an innovative mat with 7 textures to deep cleanse your brushes. By moving your brushes on the different textures they easily and quickly get a good cleanse. And they actually look and feel clean afterwards, which isn't always the case when I manually clean them with cleanser and kitchen paper. The 'Spa Express' is the smaller version of the cleansing mat, but I think it is big enough.
How does it work?
On the bottom of the mat you have suction cups to put the mat in your sink, like you can see in the picture below.

After that you follow the easy steps, like explained in the pictures below, with each brush.

Voila, it's that easy!
The result
In the picture below you can see one of the brushes before I cleaned it and after. The pictures aren't that great, but you can still see a big difference.

YAY or NAY?
A definite yay, I'm a big fan! The mat gives a good result and although it involves a few steps, it is quickly done and before you know it you have a bunch of clean brushes. Because of the mat I also clean my brushes way more often, so my brushes haven't been this clean in forever. Which is not only good for my brushes, but also for my skin since it is more hygienic when you use clean brushes instead of brushes you've used about 30 times before.
You can buy these mats on the sigma website, bol.com or boozyshop.be and they're around ⬠25-30. A good investment for the future of your brushes and if you're a fan of useful make-up/beauty goodies.
